A beautifully balanced wholemeal sourdough with a robust crust, gentle chew, and deep, rounded flavour developed through long fermentation. Made with South Warwickshire wholemeal flour from Charlecote Mill when available; otherwise we use high-quality organic wholemeal flour.
Our Wholemeal Classic Sourdough is a loaf we bake regularly — wholesome, dependable, and made the traditional way.
Naturally leavened and slowly fermented, it develops a subtle tang, a well-baked crust, and a moist, even crumb with plenty of character. It’s nourishing without being heavy, making it ideal for toast, sandwiches, or simply enjoyed warm with butter.
Local flour, whenever we can
When it’s available, we use locally milled wholemeal flour from Charlecote Mill, the last working watermill in South Warwickshire. If local flour isn’t available, we switch to a carefully chosen organic wholemeal flour so the loaf remains consistent, flavourful, and well balanced.

Storage & freshness
Best enjoyed within 3–4 days. Keep cut-side down on a board or in a bread bag. For longer keeping, slice and freeze — it toasts exceptionally well straight from frozen.
